Comprehensive Examination

Successful completion of the program also requires that students pass a comprehensive exam, typically conducted at the culmination of the student's program of study. This is a multiple choice examination that follows the Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE). All admitted applicants in the Professional Counseling degree program will obtain an M.Ed. (this is a non-thesis degree) and passing this examination is required for degree completion. Pass rates are established by NCMHCE. Three faculty members are selected to serve as the student's supervisory committee from the Comprehensive Examination Committee in the Counseling/Counseling Psychology program.
